At its heart, the 2026 Triumph Tiger 1200 Desert Edition has installed a 1,160cc four-stroke liquid-cooled three-cylinder engine fed by a fuel injection system with electronic throttle control. The engine is rated at 148 hp at 9,000 rpm and 130 Nm (96 lb-ft) of torque at 7,000 rpm.

The engine is paired with a six-speed transmission with Triumph Shift Assist, which sends power to the rear via a final shaft drive. Also, the engine exhales through a stainless steel three-in-one header system and a silencer mounted on the right-hand side.

The chassis consists of a tubular steel frame and a bolt-on aluminum subframe, which relies on suspension components, such as a 49 mm semi-active damping Showa inverted fork at the front with 220 mm of travel, and a semi-active damping Showa monoshock with electronic preload adjustment and 220 mm of travel at the rear.

The motorcycle glides on 21-inch front and 18-inch rear spoked wheels shod with Metzeler Karoo Street tires. Braking-wise, the wheels are fitted with two 320 mm floating discs at the front, clamped by Brembo M4.30 Stylema monobloc radial calipers, and a 282 mm disc at the rear, squeezed by a single-piston Brembo caliper.
